Dream Locations

If I could choose anywhere in the U.S. as a place for my Dream Job, it would be here in Colorado.
I have lived in Colorado my entire life and I could not imagine living anywhere else. There are five factors that I would consider when choosing exactly where I would like to live in Colorado.

The first factor I would consider is scenery. I love nature and especially the mountains. With that in mind I would choose a place in Western Colorado because it offers the best of the state and that is where the mountains are most prominent. I would also enjoy living on the front range of the mountains, stretching from Colorado Springs up to Fort Collins. These cities also have beautiful scenery and offer more career wise.

Another factor for me to consider in choosing a location is population. I prefer a medium to large city over a small town. With that in mind while staying in Colorado, I would choose any city with a population of 100,000 citizens to 1 million, which includes Fort Collins down to Colorado Springs. With a larger population there are more opportunities for finding a career, which is something that would be extremely important to me. I also enjoy being around more people than living in a small mountain town where there is hardly anyone around you.

Along with population and scenery, transportation comes to mind. If I am going to live in a large town and have my career in business, I am going to need forms of transportation that are always close. The airport is the most important, but a train depot or even having my own car is important. Having my car would enable me to travel around whichever town I am in if I am doing business locally. A train as a form of transportation is not as important to me because it is not a quick way to get from place to place. The airport is most important because I can get to anywhere in the U.S. within four hours or less. If I am going to be living in Colorado, I am probably going to want to be close to Denver International Airport so that I may leave anytime that my career requires.

Size is another factor that I would consider in a dream location. I like large populations and large cities, so when considering size I would like a place that is not entirely spread out so that it does not take an hour to get from one side of the city to the other. I would rather enjoy a city that is large, but one that still has easy access to everything the city offers, including places that I would do businesses with. Colorado Springs is not a city that has everything to offer in easy access. The city is spread out and it takes time to get from one place to the next, Denver is also similar to the Springs, but it also has parts of the city that makes it easy to get where you need to go. So when considering size, I would choose Denver.

The last factor I would consider with my dream location is how successful the cities are with business. I would have to research how much the cities profit with businesses and why they are doing so well. If the city is doing well in in profit with small business I would definitely consider that location over one that is profiting in corporations that are running the small business out of town.

With all these factors in mind, scenery, population, transportation, size, and profit, I would most likely be living in Denver, Colorado or a suburb of Denver.
