In Business Week's "BMW's Push into Electric Cars," the automotive company is looking to the future with the creation of a vehicle that is completely battery powered. The automotive industry is not looking great right now, and it is just going to get worse in the future. BMW knows this and in order to stay a respectable car company, they want to keep their customers in the future with greener cars, specifically electric. There are optimists and pessimists about the idea however, on the upside, people are still willing to pay for a quality vehicle compared to that of Mitsubishi. On the down side, battery prices may not decline, but increase, which would raise the cost of the car. Ten years into the future, people may not be willing to have a high monthly payment for a vehicle that only goes so far on a battery. I love BMW, so when the time comes that America has to rely on electric cars, I am going to buy the BMW over the competition.
